HOUSTON, Texas USA - July 25 - The International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers (IISRP) 44th annual general meeting will be held in Beijing, China from Monday, May 19, to Thursday, May 22, 2003, James L. McGraw, the Institute’s Managing Director and CEO, announced today.
Mr. McGraw made the announcement upon his return from two weeks of meetings in Beijing with officials of the two Chinese IISRP member-companies: Sinopec which is the co-organizer and co-sponsor of the annual meeting, and PetroChina, also a co-sponsor, who joined the Institute recently.
“Because the annual meeting will be the Institute’s first ever in China, it takes on a historical significance,” Mr. McGraw said. “Recognizing this, Zhang Yong, the Sinopec executive who is the Institute’s current international president, and officials from the two sponsoring companies are working especially hard with the Institute staff to produce and annual meeting that will reflect its historical aspects.
