The IISRP Executive Committee is elated with the PetroChina membership as we have been recruiting the company for well over a year, said James L. McGraw, IISRP Managing Director and CEO, in noting that the firm is the second synthetic rubber producer from China to join and one of the largest Petrochemical groups in China. Sinopec, headquartered in Beijing, became an Institute member-company in 1997.
China has the greatest synthetic rubber growth rate in the world and both PetroChina and Sinopec have come to recognize the value of IISRP membership, McGraw added.
Yang Jigang is PetroChina's Director Representative to the IISRP Board of Directors. He will also serve on the Board of the IISRP's Far Eastern Section.
The IISRP is an international not-for-profit trade association with 49 corporate members domiciled in 22 countries who produce more than 90-percent of the world's supply of synthetic rubber. Incorporated in 1960 and headquartered in Houston, Texas, the Institute supports section offices in London and Tokyo.
