BEIJING, CHINA, September 25, 2003-Zdzislaw Ingielewicz, President and General Manager of Chemical Company Dwory S.A., a producer of synthetic rubber, polystyrene, vinyl, and copolymer dispersions in Óswiecim, Poland, was elected International President of the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers (IISRP) for the year 2003-04 at the association’s 44th annual meeting here today.
He succeeds Zhang Yong, Vice President of Science and Technology of Sinopec, a leading synthetic rubber producer in China. Mr. Zhang now becomes the International Past President.
Mr. Ingielewicz, who has spent his entire career in management working for various domestic and foreign industrial and financial companies, attended Polytechnic in Warsaw, Poland, and obtained additional business education at schools in Japan, England, Switzerland, and Belgium. He also earned a management degree from the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw and an Executive MBA at the University of Illinois in the United States.
He is a member of The Conference Board in Poland and the Research and Industrial Council at the Faculty of Engineering and Chemical Technologies at Polytechnic in Cracow, Poland. He has also been named a member of the Economic Council by the Governor of a Province in southern Poland.
In addition to Mr. Ingielewicz, others elected to the Institute Executive Committee for the year 2003-04 are:
- European Section: Nicolaas Viets of DSM Elastomers Europe, President; Herman Van Roost of AtoFina, First Vice President; Tim Bielfeldt of Bayer Polymers, Second Vice President.
- Far East Section: Tadahiko Ito of JSR Corporation, President; Yang Jigang of PetroChina, First Vice President; Nobuyuki Takahashi of UBE Industries, Second Vice President.
- Americas Section: Art Sullivan of ExxonMobil Chemical, President; Steve Wood of Kraton Polymers, First Vice President; Jorge Pelaez of DESC, Second Vice President.
Also, Jacques Collonge of Eliokem was reelected Treasurer and James McGraw, IISRP Managing Director and CEO, was reelected Assistant Treasurer and Secretary.
Mr. Collonge will continue to chair the IISRP Performance Review Committee. Other members are John Schremp of Firestone Polymers, York Otawa of Zeon Chemicals, and Roger Morgan of Kraton Polymers.
The IISRP is an international not-for-profit association with 47 corporate members domiciled in 21 countries who produce 95 percent of the world’s supply of synthetic rubber. Incorporated in 1960 and headquartered in Houston, Texas, the Institute supports regional offices in London and Tokyo.
