Coronado, California 11 May 2005—Daniel Compté, general manager of Dynasol, a producer of solution polymers, was elected President International of the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers (IISRP) for the year 2005-06 at the association’s 46th annual meeting here today.

He succeeds Igor Golberg, chairman of Efremov Synthetic Rubber Enterprise. Dr. Golberg now becomes the Past-President International.

Dr. Compté was born in Barcelona, Spain, and at age 23 obtained his PhD in chemical engineering at the “Institut Químic de Sàrria” (Barcelona). After 20 years with Exxon Chemical, most of them in the European headquarters in Brussels, where he held several positions in planning, business development and marketing management. He joined Repsol YPF in 1996 with responsiblity for the plastics business.

In May 2004, after three years as Repsol YPF’s Country Manager of Portugal, he was elected general manager of Dynasol.

  Jacques Collonge of Eliokem was elected as Treasurer, and James L. McGraw, Managing Director & CEO, was elected Assistant Treasurer and Secretary.
  

The IISRP is an international not-for-profit association with 40 corporate members domiciled in 20 countries who produce 90 percent of the world’s supply of synthetic rubber. Incorporated in 1960 and headquartered in Houston, Texas, the Institute supports regional offices in London and Tokyo.
